Our Group:
This support group was formed with the interest of helping Hispanic families who have children with autism. Our mission is to help parents through education; unconditional support and information to enable them to better cope with their children and family.
What is Autism?
Autism is a neurological disorder that is very complex. Sometimes it is classified as a developmental disability that usually occurs before three years of age in the developmental period that causes delays or problems in many different skills that arise from childhood to adulthood.
Signs of Autism
Communication that is limited or absent. It is easier for them to point or signal what it is that they want.
Social interaction; they live in their own space and interact very little with people.
Routines and repetitive behaviors: they prefer everything in order and in the same place, are comfortable with one routine, play with toys or watch television in a repetitive manner.
They have trouble keeping eye contact, paying attention. Ex: reading, writing.
Facilities:
We have a Children’s game room. They will feel in an environment surrounded by love and peace.
